DIAGNOdent Caries Detection Laser

To the naked eye, caries (cavities) can be very difficult to detect. However, the tiniest spot of tooth decay can mean serious trouble for your oral health. To help detect decay in its earliest stages, our Oxford, MI dental team is trained to use DIAGNOdent. The DIAGNOdent laser helps us to detect the small spots of tooth decay that are hidden beneath the tooth’s surface without having to initially open up the tooth. If you would like to learn more about the DIAGNOdent, please contact our dental practice.

Digital X-rays

The cleaning and prevention plan at Oxford Lakes Dental Care includes having dental X-rays taken of your teeth. Our office is equipped with the latest digital X-ray technology. Digital radiography uses an electronic sensor to both capture and store images of your teeth. Taking digital X-rays is faster and more comfortable than taking X-ray film. Digital X-rays also emit significantly less radiation than traditional X-ray machines. Because the digital images from the machine can be viewed instantly, our dental team will be able to detect any abnormalities faster and more efficiently.

VELscope Oral Cancer Screening

VELscope is a powerful dental tool used by our dental staff to more easily discover any potentially dangerous oral abnormalities.  The VELscope assists in early detection of oral cancer and can help catch the cancer before it has time to spread and endanger our patients. The VELscope oral cancer screening is included at every normal check-up to help ensure our patients remain safe. If you have any questions about the VELscope, we invite you to call our dental practice today.  One of our friendly staff will be happy to answer your questions.
